Gracie Barra moved to a new location

Our Gym has moved into 8310 Manning Ave T9H 1W1 Friendship Centre Fort McMurray, AB.

After a great deal of planning and consideration we were very excited to open the doors to our new facility, we invited all our BJJ family and people interested in learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to be part of the Gracie Barra's new club.

Gracie Barra ‘Fort McMurray Open’ Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Submission Grappling Tournament announced featuring special guest Georges St-Pierre

The tournament was held on May 21, 2011 and was open for all registrants. The competition was open to all contestants, including those residing outside of the Wood Buffalo region. The tournament was held at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre at MacDonald Island Park.

“Gracie Barra is proud of our second annual tournament,” said Michael King, owner and operator of Gracie Barra Fort McMurray. “The opportunity to bring in a world-class athlete such as Georges St-Pierre to teach our local community more about mixed martial arts is a fantastic way to help build the sport in Wood Buffalo.”

BJJ/MMA George St. Pierre Seminar

‘Gracie Barra’ also featured a mixed martial arts seminar which was leded by world-renowned and current mixed martial arts Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre.

St-Pierre holds a blackbelt from ‘Gracie Barra Bruno Fernandes’.
